cleaning your Clarisonic brush

Quick tip for a dirty Clarisonic brush -- Clean it like you would clean your makeup brushes, with a bar of white soap. Scrub the bristles with the soap and rinse.

Clarisonic Mia update

So I've been using my Mia (by the way -- I just got an e-mail today from Clarisonic announcing the release of a LAVENDER MIA! so cute! I wish it was out when I got mine) for about two weeks now, most of the time just at night. After a few days I started to break out a little bit (2-3 blemishes), but I think it was the under-the-skin dirt that was surfacing since the Mia was getting my pores super clean every night, and they had nowhere else to go but up and out of my skin. Yay! Now, two weeks later, I don't have any current break-outs and my skin tone seems to be improving. I have less redness and overall my skin color seems more even. That super squeaky-clean feeling I get after using it is still noticeable to me.

A few nights ago I figured out a cool way that I like to use my Mia. I like the feeling of it on my skin best when it's hot, so between sections (forehead, each cheek, and nose/chin area) I pause the Mia (just press the power button) and run it under hot water. This not only gets the brush head hot again, but also rinses off any dirt that it may have picked up from the section you just washed so you're not dragging it all over your face.

Clarisonic Mia first impressions..

Omg I love it. After using it just once, I can already tell that it is removing more dirt from my face than with normal washing. Right away I felt that my skin was smoother and cleaner. I was probably leaving a bunch of make-up and junk on my face before! Yuck.

so cute!

It's really easy to use. You push a button and it turns on for one minute. You do 20 seconds on your forehead, 10 seconds on each cheek, and 20 for the nose/chin area. Then it turns off. Rinse off your face and rinse off the brush head. The hardest part was waiting the first 24 hours to charge.

The battery is supposed to last 20 minutes - so if you use it once a day, that's almost 3 weeks of use before you have to charge it again. I'm not sure if I'm going to use it once or twice a day, but it is definitely gentle enough for daily use.

I can't stop touching my face and feeling how smooth it is :) I should really stop or I'll probably break out. I'll continue to update as I notice changes in my skin.
