Spent forever talking about our night skincare routines with who else this lovely (freezing) Friday evening :)
My routine changes from night to night because I have so many different products I'm trying to use .. and I'm still trying to find my perfect routine. So this is what I did tonight. I know it's kind of excessive but it's fun for me. Hehe.
Tonight's routine:
*Shu Uemera Cleansing Oil (still have some left!) - to remove makeup
*Lush Ocean Salt scrub - to exfoliate
*100% Pure Eucalyptus Seafoam Cleanser w/ Clarisonic - to further clean pores & make sure all makeup is gone
*100% Pure Brightening Tonique - to tone ... and help fade my sun spots
*MAC Fix+ - really hydrating and refreshing, love this step before applying moisturizer
*100% Pure Super Fruits Eye Balm
*100% Pure Red Wine Resveratrol Nourishing Cream - rest of my face
*Josie Maran Argan Oil - even more moisture
*Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm
I like this idea, maybe it'll help me see what's working for me and what's not if I record it. Goodnight!

Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm
Reunited with one of my favorite lip balms ever. Picked up one tonight at Sephora (another trip to the mall for MAC/Sephora with the bff) and I'm so happy I got it! :) Brings me back, kinda .. I used to use this yeeeeears ago and after I finished/lost/whatever my last one a long long time ago, I never replaced it. I have tens tons of lip balms/chapsticks/lip butters/etc. but I haven't been totally pleased with any one of them lately, you know? Maybe?
I love this thing. I'm seriously addicted to lip balms (I think I mentioned this before) and this is one of my top favorites. I love the strawberry smell and it's just the right amount of moisture for when your lips are dry. I hate when a lip balm is either too waxy (doesn't go on dry lips smoothly) or when it's too greasy (just slides around).
Packaging is okay, not bad - it's easy to use although maybe not the most sanitary. It's cute, and you get a big surface when you open it up so it's easy/convenient .. just try not to dip dirty fingers in it! Be careful if you're clumsy like me though - I dropped it once before and dented the tin on the side making it really tough to open and close.
Ingredients are pretty simple - "Petrolatum, Vilvanolin, natural white beeswax, a Trade Secret blend of Strawberry flavor, natural and artificial dyes". Hmm... wonder what this secret is. Good thing though is that it has a pretty good (low) rating on cosmeticsdatabase.com - 2 / low hazard. Yay!
There's also a Rosebud Salve (rose scented) which I like too but not as much. It seems greasier feeling and I just prefer the strawberry scent. And another I've never tried, Minted Rose Lip Balm. I might have to check that out sometime.

MAC event - Venomous Villians
Two weeks ago I went to a MAC event with my bff. So glad she invited me and I was able to go! I was pretty excited for this as I love Disney + MAC and this was my first MAC event. But I had to remind myself to not go crazy! I picked up only 3 lipglasses. Most everything else I didn't really want that bad (blushes, eyeshadows), they were just pretty to look at and would be nice to have because of the different packaging.
Strange Potion - Right when I saw preview swatches of this online I knew I wanted it! Such a pretty coral color. Super opaque.
Hot House - I didn't think anything of it when seeing swatches online for some reason, but in person I thought it was so pretty with the sparkles and had to get it.
Wicked Ways - Love this. I didn't have a red lipgloss... and we all need one... so yeah.
oh wow that is close up. this picture makes me want to moisturize. Strange Potion, Hot House, Wicked Ways. no flash.
One thing that was on my list and sold out was the Bad Fairy nail polish. I loved all the nail polishes but apparently Orly has knock-offs of the other two (Formidable and Mean & Green) so I was just going to get Bad Fairy... but I couldn't. It's sold out online too, but it may still be available in some stores.
It was super fun though, besides the crowdedness and long lines and things selling out. We got to take polaroids with Evil Queen + Cruella props (the wig!). Also, male models serving drinks (for the 21+) and snacks. :)

Target + Boots
So when my bff texted me today about going to Target to pick up some beauty-related items, I immediately agreed (who doesn't love Target trips?) and checked the running list I have going on my computer of things I need/want.
Ever since I last blogged about my Boscia eye cream (which is when I ran out), I haven't been using any eye cream at all! Yikes. I haven't had time to go pick one up, and I wasn't sure which new one I wanted to try. So before heading to Target, I went over to MakeUpAlley and quickly searched the reviews and settled on Boots Organic Moisturising Eye Cream... there were only 2 reviews (both within the past month), but both 100% positive. I'm guessing this is a fairly new product. I'm excited to try it out... I will let you guys know how it works out, all two of you. Hehe.
oooh
nice (sterile) packaging, i like
I also picked up a new body scrub because I had to throw out my Lush Buffy exfoliating bar... the way I stored it in a metal container made it stink so bad. While in the Boots' aisle, I saw some huge jars of body scrubs (marked down! hehe) so I decided to give it a go. I chose the Amazon Forest Mango & Babassu scent. I hope it works okay... there's crushed walnut shells in there as the exfoliating ingredient, and I know that's not too great for the skin on your face since the uneven granules can make small little cuts. We'll see though... I can take pretty tough exfoliating on my body. I enjoy it. Weird thing: it totally looks like Thousand Island dressing. And is more liquid-y than I expected.
yes, it does look gross
what in the world is a babassu? apparently, these are babassu. babassus. babassi?
Like I really needed another lip balm ... but I also got the Nivea Lip Care (Milk & Honey version). I couldn't resist the markdown to $1.something from $2.something. I already use the regular light blue one, with SPF, and love it. One of my best friends is really obsessed with the Nivea lip products and recommended them to me ... so thank you.
cute
Lastly, another highlight from Target: one of the workers rushing around clutching a stuffed bear outfitted in baby's clothes, like a baby. Weird.
Update on the Boots scrub: It's not scrubby enough for me. I don't recommend it.
