Spent forever talking about our night skincare routines with who else this lovely (freezing) Friday evening :)
My routine changes from night to night because I have so many different products I'm trying to use .. and I'm still trying to find my perfect routine. So this is what I did tonight. I know it's kind of excessive but it's fun for me. Hehe.
Tonight's routine:
*Shu Uemera Cleansing Oil (still have some left!) - to remove makeup
*Lush Ocean Salt scrub - to exfoliate
*100% Pure Eucalyptus Seafoam Cleanser w/ Clarisonic - to further clean pores & make sure all makeup is gone
*100% Pure Brightening Tonique - to tone ... and help fade my sun spots
*MAC Fix+ - really hydrating and refreshing, love this step before applying moisturizer
*100% Pure Super Fruits Eye Balm
*100% Pure Red Wine Resveratrol Nourishing Cream - rest of my face
*Josie Maran Argan Oil - even more moisture
*Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm
I like this idea, maybe it'll help me see what's working for me and what's not if I record it. Goodnight!

New eyeliner + some old favorites
Hello beautiful people! Let's talk about eyeliners since I just got a new one today: Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner (in Black -- there was a Blackest Black and Brownish Black also). I remember hearing about this eyeliner last summer and wanted to try it back then but never got around to it. I saw this for $5 and thought I'd give it a shot, especially since I was recently contemplating purchasing the MAC Pen Ultimate Eyeliner, which seems to be pretty similar as far as the applicator brush.
As you can see, it's very black, and this isn't even the "Blackest Black" color. It definitely gives a different look than my other eyeliners. I'll use it when I want a very clean, precise line, or a very thin line versus when I'm going for a more smokey or natural look.
One eyeliner that I love to use, when I have the time and patience for it, is MAC's Fluidline in Blacktrack. It also gives a very black black.. I've had it for a long time, and once accidentally left it open for several hours! :( So it's a bit dried out, but luckily it didn't dry out completely and I'm still able to use it. It's probably not as fluid-y as before, but still awesome.
I also have fluidline in Macroviolet, which is a violet with red pearl. It's really pretty... and I kind of forgot about it until now. Maybe I'll use it tomorrow :)

One eyeliner I always recommend to my friends, especially those who don't wear make-up often or don't want to spend a lot of time applying it, is Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. The 24/7 is really soft and pigmented so you're not pressing down hard on your eyelid, or dragging it to get a dark line. The staying power is amazing, & it never creases or smears for me. I think it's easier to use than Fluidline, since with Fluidline you have to use a brush. It's also safe to use on your waterline.

MAC event - Venomous Villians
Two weeks ago I went to a MAC event with my bff. So glad she invited me and I was able to go! I was pretty excited for this as I love Disney + MAC and this was my first MAC event. But I had to remind myself to not go crazy! I picked up only 3 lipglasses. Most everything else I didn't really want that bad (blushes, eyeshadows), they were just pretty to look at and would be nice to have because of the different packaging.
Strange Potion - Right when I saw preview swatches of this online I knew I wanted it! Such a pretty coral color. Super opaque.
Hot House - I didn't think anything of it when seeing swatches online for some reason, but in person I thought it was so pretty with the sparkles and had to get it.
Wicked Ways - Love this. I didn't have a red lipgloss... and we all need one... so yeah.
| oh wow that is close up. this picture makes me want to moisturize. Strange Potion, Hot House, Wicked Ways. no flash. |
One thing that was on my list and sold out was the Bad Fairy nail polish. I loved all the nail polishes but apparently Orly has knock-offs of the other two (Formidable and Mean & Green) so I was just going to get Bad Fairy... but I couldn't. It's sold out online too, but it may still be available in some stores.
It was super fun though, besides the crowdedness and long lines and things selling out. We got to take polaroids with Evil Queen + Cruella props (the wig!). Also, male models serving drinks (for the 21+) and snacks. :)

MAC's Fix+
That's my not-so-secret secret I mentioned in my previous post. I spray it on my face at night before I apply my moisturizer. I tried using it in the daytime underneath my day moisturizer, but my T-zone is too oily for that.

Other things that contribute to appearance of healthy skin: good genes (thank you to my parents), not smoking, not drinking (rarely), and . . . probably my make-up. I will post on what products I use later.
What's in Fix+: vitamins/minerals, cucumber extract, chamomile, caffeine (tightens skin).

MAC's Fix+ - $19 for 3.4 oz
